Dear Visitors,

Welcome to our renewed home page!

The fast development of the IT society requires a modern and easily manageable portal from the Customs and Finance Guard, which enhances the establishment of an interactive relationship between the Authority and the Client.

We have renewed our homepage so as to render even more assistance to the work of the visitors and to support operators with a wide range of information, with the effective provisions of the EU Customs Code being directly in force in Hungary, the national legislation, public internal decrees and its explanations and last but not least to give responses to passengers' questions encountered by them during their trips abroad.

We deem it important that Visitors of this Homepage obtain information on the operation and organisation of our Administration and get acquainted with the work and results of the Customs and Finance Guard.

Following a long period of preparation, the complete legal harmonisation of the customs administration has taken place, the administrative capacities have been extended, the conditions of functioning as a member state have been complied with and our IT systems have been directly connected to the systems of the European Union.

As a result of the preparation, the Customs and Finance Guard became an organisation, which has new priorities in terms of its activities and is responsible not only for community and national revenues but performs efficiently security tasks and complies with social and economic expectations. It also plays an important role in safeguarding the community and national interests and in the protection of the union - including Hungarian citizens.

We have considered all this while working on our new homepage and I truly hope that our Visitors may obtain useful information by reading customs, excise, border and enforcement news or by entering the press room.

Wishing you a pleasant surfing

Lieutenant-General János Nagy dr.
Commissioner
